In our quest for perfection, we developed our new
state-of-the-art audio system Premium Sound together with the renowned high-end
audio manufacturers Bowers & Wilkins. The result is simply overwhelming –
the Premium Sound by Bowers & Wilkins may be the world's best sound system
in the class. The numbers are impressive: one 12-channel amplifier, an
astonishing 1400W output and 19 separate high-end speakers (including two
automotive innovations: a unique open-air sub-woofer and a tweeter-on-top
centre speaker facing the occupants for a sound that's detailed and true to
life). But this audio system goes beyond figures – our sound engineers have
searched obsessively for audiophile perfection. Using a radically new approach,
they developed a unique room transformation technology together with the
Swedish audio software specialists Dirac Research. This technology makes it
possible to recreate the acoustics of a specific room inside the car. There are
three room modes: "Studio" for an excellent, dry and precise listening
experience, "Individual Stage" that allows you to control the
acoustics and create your own sound using the centre display, and
"Gothenburg Concert Hall" which recreates the amazing acoustic
experience of this legendary concert hall. The result speaks directly to any
music lover's soul – wherever you're seated in your S90. The whole experience
exudes quality and craftsmanship – most of the tweeter and mid-range speaker
panels are in stainless steel, and the yellow speaker cones are elegantly
visible through the mesh. This audio system is part of our Sensus Connect which
also includes the 9-inch centre display with touchscreen and steering wheel
controls with a scroll wheel. And if you want to watch your favourite TV shows
while at standstill, you can add Digital TV for terrestrial channels.
