If you're looking for a Volvo for the beach this summer, here's the story of a very special Volvo 780.
For his 50th birthday in 1985, former Volvo Cars president Pehr G. Gyllenhammar received his new company car. Chassis number 31 – the only Volvo 780 ever produced with a red exterior and red leather interior.
But the surprises didn't end there. Under the hood was a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, paired with a manual transmission. The Volvo 780 was initially introduced with a V6 engine, and a few years later, other engine options became available.
Another fun fact is that Gyllenhammar's cars were always ready to go. Washed, fully fueled, and with his personal favorites in the cabin: a pack of gum and a cassette tape of birdsong.
Today, the car is part of the Volvo Heritage Collection. The cars in the collection can be seen continuously at the World of Volvo museum in Gothenburg.

Un fait amusant supplémentaire est que les voitures de Gyllenhammar étaient toujours prêtes à partir. Lavées, entièrement réapprovisionnées et avec ses préférés personnels dans la cabine : un paquet de gomme et une cassette avec un chant d'oiseau.
Aujourd'hui, la voiture fait partie de la collection Volvo Heritage. Les voitures de la collection peuvent être vues en continu au musée World of Volvo à Gothenburg.
